What's so good about your Copper water bottle?

Copper has numerous anti-oxidants and anti-bacterial properties that help boost our immune system, smooth the process of digestion and also aid in cell regeneration. According to the traditions of Ayurveda, copper positively charges stored water due to its ionising qualities and on consumption helps balance the pH of our body.
Apart from healthy hydration, our bottles are also good for the environment being made from recycled copper.

How long should water be stored in the bottle?

Store room temperature water in the bottle for 6-8 hours or overnight for best results. Consume a few mouthfuls of this water first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach as it'll help get rid of the toxins
You can also use it as a normal water bottle for your everyday hydration needs. Please ensure you fill the bottle with fresh water for this purpose.

Can it be used as a normal water bottle?

Yes, certainly. Please ensure that you fill the bottle with fresh water when using it as normal water bottle. We recommend not drinking water that's been sitting in the bottle for more than 12 hours.

Are your copper bottles made of 100% copper?

Fallen Leaves copper bottles are made of 98% Copper and 2% Zinc and we use anti-microbial quality copper. Pure copper is too soft to be used for making bottles, the 2% Zinc gives it tensile strength hence our bottles are strong and durable. Also, all our bottles are made from recycled copper.

What other liquids can be stored in the bottle?

Our bottles are designed to only store water. Please do not store any acidic drinks like juices, tea, coffee etc. as it can react with the copper. We also do not recommend storing hot water in the bottle as copper is a heat conductor and could cause burns. Ayurveda recommends consuming tepid water as it boosts our digestion process and enhances metabolism.

How do you clean the bottle?

Copper has the natural tendency to oxidise and form a natural layer of Patina. Using your hands, rub a mixture of lemon juice, salt and water on the surface of the bottle. Rinse after 10-15 minutes and dry with a clean cloth to prevent water spots from appearing. Same mixture can be used to clean the inside of the bottle. Repeat this process every couple of weeks or as required

Is it dishwasher safe?

No, the bottle is not dishwasher safe. Only hand wash is recommended.

Is the bottle insulated?

No the bottle is not insulated, as it is designed to hold room temperature water which is beneficial for the body.

Can the copper in the bottle be harmful?

Our bottles are made of 98% anti-microbial Copper and 2% Zinc. The copper used is non-toxic in nature and after the water has been left to store in the bottle for 6-8 hours or overnight, a very small trace of copper ions dissolve in the water, which is well below the permissible levels set by WHO(2mg/L). Please do not drink water that's been stored in the bottle for more than 12 hours. We also believe that human body likes everything in moderation, so we recommend taking a 4 week break from using your copper bottle every 3 months. Use as recommended.
